    About Surah Al-Layl

    Al-Layl, the Night, contrasts two kinds of people: the one who gives, is mindful of Allah, and believes in goodness, and the one who is stingy and turns away. It promises ease to the first and hardship to the second, teaching that our choices shape the path that opens before us.

    Surah Al-Layl (The Night)

    1. 92:1

      وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

      Wallaili izaa yaghshaa

      Eebe wuxuu ku dhaartay Habeenku markuu wax qariyo.

    2. 92:2

      وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

      Wannahaari izaa tajalla

      Iyo markay Maalintu Muuqato (ifto).

    3. 92:3

      وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

      Wa maa khalaqaz zakara wal unthaa

      Iyo Abuuridda Dadka Lab iyo dhaddigba.

    4. 92:4

      إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

      Inna sa'yakum lashattaa

      In Camalkiinnu (dadow) kala duwanyahay.

    5. 92:5

      فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ

      Fa ammaa man a'taa wattaqaa

      Ruuxiise bixiya (xuquuqda) Eebana ka dhawrsada.

    6. 92:6

      وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

      Wa saddaqa bil husnaa

      Rumeeyana tii wanaaga badnayd (ciwal).

    7. 92:7

      فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

      Fasanu yassiruhoo lilyusraa

      Waxaanni u fududaynaa wanaagga (iyo Jidka fiican).

    8. 92:8

      وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ

      Wa ammaa mam bakhila wastaghnaa

      Ruuxiise ku bakhayla Xoolaha isna deeqtoonaysiiya «iskibriya».

    9. 92:9

      وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

      Wa kazzaba bil husnaa

      Reeniyana Tii wanaaga badnayd (ciwal).

    10. 92:10

      فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ

      Fasanu yassiruhoo lil'usraa

      Waxaan u fududaynaa Jidka xun.

      وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

      Wa maa yughnee 'anhu maaluhooo izaa taraddaa

      Xoolihiisuna wax uma taraan markuu halaagsamo.

    12. 92:12

      إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ

      Inna 'alainaa lal hudaa

      Annagaa wax hanuuninna.

    13. 92:13

      وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْءَاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ

      Wa inna lanaa lal Aakhirata wal oolaa

      Aakhariyo Addunbana Annagaa iska leh.

    14. 92:14

      فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ

      Fa anzartukum naaran talazzaa

      Waxana idiinka digaynaa Naar kulayl daran.

    15. 92:15

      لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى

      Laa yaslaahaaa illal ashqaa

      Oosan galaynin Ruux xun mooyeen.

    16. 92:16

      ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

      Allazee kazzaba wa tawallaa

      Oo xaqa beeniyay jeedsadayna.

    17. 92:17

      وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى

      Wa sa yujannnabuhal atqaa

      Waxaana ka fogaada (galidda naarta) Ruuxii Eeba ka dhawrsada.

    18. 92:18

      ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

      Allazee yu'tee maalahoo yatazakkaa

      Ee bixiya Xoolihiisa si uu u daahirnoqdo.

    19. 92:19

      وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍۢ تُجْزَىٰٓ

      Wa maa li ahadin 'indahoo min ni'matin tujzaaa

      Ruux wax ugu nicmeeyayna oo abaalmarinna ma uusanjirin.

    20. 92:20

      إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

      Illab tighaaa'a wajhi rabbihil a 'laa

      Ee Wuxuu u bixin dar Eebaha sareeya.

    21. 92:21

      وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ

      Wa lasawfa yardaa

      Wuuna raalli noqondoonaa Ruuxaasi.
