    About Surah Ash-Shams

    Ash-Shams, the Sun, opens with a series of oaths by the sun, the moon, the day, and the night, building to the central truth: that the one who purifies his soul succeeds, and the one who corrupts it fails. It recalls the people of Thamud who killed the she-camel and met their ruin.

    1. 91:1

      وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا

      Wash shamsi wa duhaa haa

      Eebe wuxuu ku dhaartay Qorraxda iyo Barqinkeeda.

    2. 91:2

      وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا

      Wal qamari izaa talaa haa

      Iyo Dayuxu markuu Qorraxda raaco.

    3. 91:3

      وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا

      Wannahaari izaa jallaa haa

      Iyo Maalintu markay ifiso.

    4. 91:4

      وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا

      Wallaili izaa yaghshaa haa

      Iyo Habeenku markuu daboolo (madoobaado).

    5. 91:5

      وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا

      Wassamaaa'i wa maa banaahaa

      Iyo Samada iyo say u dhisantahay.

    6. 91:6

      وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا

      Wal ardi wa maa tahaahaa

      Iyo Dhulka iyo suu u fidsanyahay.

    7. 91:7

      وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا

      Wa nafsinw wa maa sawwaahaa

      Iyo Nafta iyo sida Eebe u ekeeyay.

    8. 91:8

      فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا

      Fa-alhamahaa fujoorahaa wa taqwaahaa

      Una tusiyay Jidka xun iyo ka Eebe kayaabiddaba.

    9. 91:9

      قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

      Qad aflaha man zakkaahaa

      Ee waxaa liibaanay Ruxii Naftiisa Daarhiriya.

    10. 91:10

      وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

      Wa qad khaaba man dassaahaa

      Waxaana khasaaray Ruuxii Naftiisa xumaan dhex galiya.

    11. 91:11

      كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ

      Kazzabat Samoodu bi taghwaahaaa

      Thamuud waxay beeniyeen (xaqii) kibir dartiis.

    12. 91:12

      إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا

      Izim ba'asa ashqaahaa

      Marku tagay koodi xumaa (si uu hasha u dilo).

    13. 91:13

      فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا

      Faqaala lahum Rasoolul laahi naaqatal laahi wa suqiyaahaa

      Oo Rasuulkii Eebana ku yidhi, iska daaya Hasha Eebe iyo Cabbideeda.

    14. 91:14

      فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا

      Fakazzaboohu fa'aqaroohaa fadamdama 'alaihim Rabbuhum bizambihim fasaw waahaa

      Wayna beeniyeen Rasuulkii Hashiina way Dileen markaasaa Eebe si daran u caddibay Dambigooda dartiis.

    15. 91:15

      وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا

      Wa laa yakhaafu'uqbaahaa

      Isagoon Eebe ka yaabaynin cidhib (iyo wax yeello)
