  1. 86:1

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

    Wassamaaa'i wattaariq

    Tako mi neba i Danice!

  2. 86:2

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

    Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

    A znaš li ti šta je Danica?

  3. 86:3

    ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

    Annajmus saaqib

    Zvijezda blistava!

  4. 86:4

    إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ

    In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

    Nema čovjeka nad kojim neko ne bdije.

  5. 86:5

    فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

    Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

    Nek čovjek pogleda od čega je stvoren!

  6. 86:6

    خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ

    Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

    Stvoren je od tekućine koja se izbaci,

  7. 86:7

    يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

    Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

    koja između kičme i grudi izlazi,

  8. 86:8

    إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ

    Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

    i On je, zaista, kadar da ga ponovo stvori

  9. 86:9

    يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

    Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

    onoga Dana kada budu ispitivane savjesti,

  10. 86:10

    فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ

    Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

    kada čovjek ni snage ni branioca neće imati.

  11. 86:11

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ

    Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

    I tako mi neba puna kiše

  12. 86:12

    وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ

    Wal ardi zaatis sad'

    i Zemlje koja se otvara da rastinje nikne,

  13. 86:13

    إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ

    Innahoo laqawlun fasl

    Kur'an je, doista, govor koji rastavlja istinu od neistine,

  14. 86:14

    وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ

    Wa maa huwa bil hazl

    lakrdija nikakva on nije!

  15. 86:15

    إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا

    Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

    Oni se služe spletkama,

  16. 86:16

    وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا

    Wa akeedu kaidaa

    a Ja ih uništavam –

  17. 86:17

    فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا

    Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

    zato nevjernicima još vremena dadni, još koji trenutak ih ostavi.

About Surah At-Tariq

At-Tariq, the Nightcomer, opens with an oath by the night star and affirms that every soul has a guardian over it. It points to the human's own origin from a fluid as proof that the One who created them the first time can surely bring them back, and calls the Quran a decisive word.
