أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
Al haaku mut takathur
Kumekushughulisheni kutafuta wingi,
- 102:2
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ
Hatta zurtumul-maqaabir
Mpaka mje makaburini!
- 102:3
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Kalla sawfa ta'lamoon
Sivyo hivyo! Mtakuja jua!
- 102:4
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Thumma kalla sawfa ta'lamoon
Tena sivyo hivyo! Mtakuja jua!
- 102:5
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Kalla law ta'lamoona 'ilmal yaqeen
Sivyo hivyo! Lau mngeli jua kwa ujuzi wa yakini,
- 102:6
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ
Latara-wun nal jaheem
Basi bila ya shaka mtaiona Jahannamu!
- 102:7
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Thumma latara wunnaha 'ainal yaqeen
Tena, bila ya shaka, mtaiona kwa jicho la yakini.
- 102:8
ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Thumma latus alunna yauma-izin 'anin na'eem
Tena bila ya shaka mtaulizwa siku hiyo juu ya neema.

At-Takathur, the Rivalry, warns against being consumed by piling up wealth and competing in worldly gain until the grave. It states plainly that people will be questioned about the blessings they enjoyed, and reminds them that if they truly knew the reality of the Hereafter, they would not be so distracted.
