- 102:1
أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
Al haaku mut takathur
Zaokuplja vas nastojanje da što imućniji budete
- 102:2
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ
Hatta zurtumul-maqaabir
sve dok grobove ne naselite.
- 102:3
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Kalla sawfa ta'lamoon
A ne valja tako, saznaćete svakako!
- 102:4
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Thumma kalla sawfa ta'lamoon
I još jednom, ne valja tako! Saznaćete sigurno!
- 102:5
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Kalla law ta'lamoona 'ilmal yaqeen
Ne valja tako, neka znate pouzdano,
- 102:6
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ
Latara-wun nal jaheem
Džehennem ćete vidjeti jasno!
- 102:7
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
Thumma latara wunnaha 'ainal yaqeen
I još jednom, doista ćete ga vidjeti očigledno!
- 102:8
ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Thumma latus alunna yauma-izin 'anin na'eem
Zatim ćete toga dana za sladak život biti pitani sigurno!

At-Takathur, the Rivalry, warns against being consumed by piling up wealth and competing in worldly gain until the grave. It states plainly that people will be questioned about the blessings they enjoyed, and reminds them that if they truly knew the reality of the Hereafter, they would not be so distracted.
