    ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Al qaari'ah

    Inayo gonga!

  2. 101:2

    مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Mal qaariah

    Nini Inayo gonga?

  3. 101:3

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

    Wa maa adraaka mal qaari'ah

    Na nini kitacho kujuilisha nini Inayo gonga?

  4. 101:4

    يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ

    Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth

    Siku ambayo watu watakuwa kama nondo walio tawanyika;

  5. 101:5

    وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ

    Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh

    Na milima itakuwa kama sufi zilizo chambuliwa!

  6. 101:6

    فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

    Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh

    Basi yule ambaye mizani yake itakuwa nzito,

  7. 101:7

    فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ

    Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah

    Huyo atakuwa katika maisha ya kupendeza.

  8. 101:8

    وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

    Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh

    Na yule ambaye mizani yake itakuwa khafifu,

  9. 101:9

    فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ

    Fa-ummuhu haawiyah

    Huyo maskani yake yatakuwa Moto wa Hawiya!

  10. 101:10

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ

    Wa maa adraaka maa hiyah

    Na nini kitacho kujuilisha nini hiyo?

  11. 101:11

    نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ

    Naarun hamiyah

    Ni Moto mkali!

Al-Qari'ah, the Striking Calamity, names one of the terms for the Day of Judgment and pictures people scattered like moths and mountains like carded wool. It describes the weighing of deeds, where the one whose scales are heavy with good lives in a pleasant life, and the one whose scales are light meets a different end.
