The opening line of the Quran and the phrase Muslims say before almost every action.
It means 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.' It begins all but one surah of the Quran and is said before eating, writing, traveling, and starting any good work. Saying it is a way of starting with Allah's name and seeking His blessing.
