Part of verse 114 of Surah Ta-Ha.
It is a short, direct prayer asking Allah to increase one in knowledge. Students and seekers of knowledge recite it before studying and throughout their lives, since it is a supplication taught by Allah Himself in the Quran.

فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُۥ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًۭا
Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; wa laa ta'jal bil Quraani min qabli ai yuqdaaa ilaika wahyuhoo wa qur Rabbi zidnee 'ilmaa
真主是超绝万物，宰制众生，体用真实的。 对你启示《古兰经》还没有完全的时候，你不要急忙诵读。你说：我的主啊！求你增加我的知识。
