Some surahs and verses have specific virtues mentioned in authentic narrations from the Prophet (peace be upon him). Al-Fatihah is the greatest surah, Ayatul Kursi is the greatest verse, Al-Ikhlas equals a third of the Quran, Surah Al-Mulk pleads for its reciter, and Al-Falaq and An-Nas are the best of what is recited for refuge.
